Dear 4Ders,
Seeing 4 days become part of the history, it's time you asked yourself, "What have I done so far and what I should do in the following days ?" Never give REGRET any chance to "eat" you up when you still have time to fight back !
Stand by You,

Ms Chan,
ReplyDeleteWhen I was studying,I still have a question.
One of the sentense...
" I live in the town. The town is very old . "
Why the answer should be ...
" The town which I live in is very old . " ???
Why cannot be ..
" The town where I live in is very old ." ?????
Is it the point of " in " ?
Or the point of " is very old " ; so we use "which" ????
I'm looking forward to seeing the answer.
Jenny
hi joe chan
ReplyDeletehere's another questions ,can the ans of jenny's question be "The town in which i live is very old ."??
moreover ,does the meaning of 'where' same to 'in/at which'??
for example:
the sentence is :
The school was quite big. I spent my childhood in that school .
Could the answer be :
1)The school where i spent my childhood was quite big.
and
2)the school in which i spent my childhood was quite big.
p.s. Happy Easter!!

Hi Gals, terribly sorry to see your Qs sooo late as I forgot there's a filter system monitoring the comments. Hope my answer still helps.
ReplyDeleteJenny, I think you can refer to Yi Ching's examples as those are clearer. Yi Ching, you are right that both 1 & 2 mean the same but I think 1 is easier to handle as there is no preposition involved.
Love,
